High School hockey: Holwell, Rumsey, Rowe lead Vikings over Warriors

Kyle Rumsey and Brady Holwell both had two goals and an assist, and Eric Rowe scored once and set up two others as the Gonzaga Vikings trimmed Waterford Valley Warriors 6-1 in St. John’s high school hockey play Saturday night at the Mount Pearl Glacier.

In another St. John’s league game, the Holy Trinity Tigers and Holy Heart Highlanders played to a 2-2 tie at the Jack Byrne Arena.
In metro high school play, the Mobile Monarchs and Holy Spirit Falcons tied 1-1 at the Southern Shore Arena. At the C.B.S. Arena, Nathan Tucker had a goal and two assists as the Queen Elizabeth Pioneers downed the Mount Pearl Senior High Huskies 3-1 and the O’Donel Patriots doubled Holy Spirit 4-2 at the Paradise Double Ice Complex. Brandon Lucas and Jacob Kennedy both had a goal and an assist for the Pats.
