Condon was placed on waivers by the Montreal Canadiens for the purpose of sending him to the American Hockey League’s IceCaps after the Canadiens elected to keep Al Montoya as Carey Price’s backup.
The 26-year-old Condon made the Canadiens as Price’s backup last season, then was thrust into the No. 1 job with Montreal because of the injury that eventually ended Price’s season.
In 55 games, Condon had a 21-25-3 record, 2.71 goals-against average and .903 save percentage. The Boston native also appeared in five games with the United States at the 2016 world championship.
In Fucale, the IceCaps have a goalie who went 16-19-4 in his rookie season last year, with a 3.13 goals against average and .903 save percentage.
Lindgren was signed as a free agent by Montreal towards the end of last season after three years at St. Cloud State University.
The 22-year-old appeared in 40 games with the Huskies last season, going 30-9-1. He led all conference goaltenders in wins, saves and shutouts.
The IceCaps open the 2016-17 season Friday night in Hartford, Conn., against the Wolf Pack. It’s the first of six games on the road to start the year.
