If it's university hockey for Boland, it will be UNB

If Tyler Boland plays university hockey next season, it will be with the University of New Brunswick Varsity Reds.

Tyler Boland

The 20-year-old  from St. John’s, who was the second-leading scorer in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League last season with the Rimouski Oceanic, officially committed to UNB Tuesday.

Whether Boland acts on the commitment depends on how he fares in a September tryout with the Winnipeg Jets. He’ll attend the Jets’ rookie camp, with his performance there and in a rookie tourney in British Columbia possibly leading to an invitation to the main camp later in the month.
