It looks like 'Bous will be back

“Last night,” said Hapgood, “I was 50-50 about us coming back. Now I’m 90-10.”

The Caribous didn’t meet their target of 600 season passes sold — they currently have 400 gone — but Hapgood said the corporate community in and around Clarenville has, “stepped up big time.

“And our executive members have been working the phones to sell tickets,” he said.

Hapgood said season ticket sales dropped by 150 last season, but he said the walkup gate was up by about 100 per game.

It’s something he hopes to see again this season.

If the Caribous had folded, it would have been the demise of the Central West circuit which has only three teams. Defending champs Grand Falls-Windsor Cataracts and Gander Flyers are the others.
