The TriPen Osprey made the most of a trip across the province, sweeping a pair of provincial major midget hockey league games from the Western Kings over the weekend in Corner Brook.

On Sunday, the Osprey (8-18-3) downing the Kings (11-18-1) by a 4-1 score, the day after posting an 8-5 victory.

Meanwhile, the league’s top two teams, the St. John’s Maple Leafs and East Coast Blizzard split a pair of games at the Glacier in Mount Pearl, with the Blizzard Sunday after dropping a 2-1 decision to the league-leading Leafs on Saturday.

The results mean the Maple Leafs (20-8-1) continue to hold a one-point lead on the second-place Blizzard (20-9-0).
