Paradise's Davis makes Canada’s roster for women’s world hockey championships

Calgary (CP) — Paradise’s Sarah Davis has been named to Hockey Canada’s roster for the upcoming women’s world hockey championship March 28 to April 4 in Malmo, Sweden.

Sarah Davis

Davis is one of 10-players making  their debut in the tournament. She played with Calgary in the Canadian Women’s Hockey League this past season after four years at the University of Minnesota.

Canada lost the final to the United States in the most recent world championship held two years ago in Ottawa.

Canada’s lineup this year includes 11 players who won Olympic gold in Sochi, Russia just over a year ago.

Veteran forward Hayley Wickenheiser will not play for Canada as she had season-ending foot surgery last month.

The Canadian women will hold a pre-tournament camp next week in Toronto.
