Team general manager Ivan Hapgood called Rebecca the top candidate from the start.
“At the beginning of the 2015-16 season, Rebecca was my first choice,” said Hapgood in the release. “But unfortunately she was unable to accept the position due to prior commitments, which we understood totally.”
With the announcement, Rebecca will be the final decision maker on the bench for the Bous for the remainder of the season, with the exception of the Jan. 23-24 weekend at home against the Gander Flyers. She cannot make the game due to prior commitments.
Ivan will join her as an assistant coach along with Andrew Hapgood.
“I’m very pleased with the outcome of Rebecca joining us full time as head coach.” said Ivan.
The Packet will have more on this story going forward.
