Seven-time Herder winner dead at 83

Newfoundland and Labrador Hockey Hall of Famer Jimmy Kennedy of Bishop’s Falls was buried Tuesday after passing away last Friday. He was 83.

Kennedy played on seven Herder Memorial Trophy championship teams, including four with the Conception Bay CeeBees, two with the Corner Brook Royals and one with Grand Falls Cataracts.

He also coached high school hockey in Grand Falls-Windsor, and in the Central intermediate league.
