There was no announcement from the ECHL about supplemental discipline for Kevin Tansey on Tuesday.

And there won't be any today.

The Toledo Walleye defenceman will not receive any further penance for his hit to the head of Newfoundland Growlers' forward Josh Kestner in Sunday's Game 2 of the ECHL Kelly Cup at Mile One Centre in St. John's.

Kestner was left temporarily unconscious on the ice after the hit, delivered late in the second period of what eventually became a 2-1 win for Newfoundland in overtime. The Growlers lead the best-of-seven series heading into Game 3 tonight in Toledo (9:05 p.m NT).

Tansey received a five-minute major and a match penalty on the play, and the Growlers scored their first goal of the game on the resulting power play.

This was after Kestner was stretchered off the ice, giving a thumbs up to the fans, and taken for observation within the Mile One medical area. He travelled with his teammates to Toledo on Monday, but did not participate in a team practice at the Huntington Center, although he he did engage in exercise activities.

Kestner has 14 points, including eight goals, in playing all 18 of the Growlers' post-season games to date. Newfoundland has forward Todd Skirving and forward-turned-defenceman Evan Neugiold as reserve skaters who did not play in the first two games of the series.

Tansey has two goals, 10 assists and a playoff plus-rating of plus 12, best among all ECHL players.
