Welcome back boys.

That’s the message at the bottom of a tweet sent out by the Western Kings entry in the provincial major midget hockey league Monday night.

The tweet revealed that the Kings management team, with co-owners Craig Simms and Jason Oake at the helm, are bringing back the same coaching staff as las year for the 2018-2019 season.

The Kings announced that Mark Robinson would be returning as the head coach, while Darren Langdon and Andre Cornick will be back in their roles as assistant coaches.

The team has been in limbo for months and only released its training camp dates for next season, earlier this week.

Controversy swirled around the team when Cornick was fired by Simms at the end of the season. Robinson, who Cornick said at the time was also fired, left the team shortly afterwards and hasn’t responded to any requests for comment on developments with the situation over the past few months.

Langdon, in an interview with The Star on Monday, said he expected to be back with the team in a similar role as long as everything was status quo with both Robinson and Cornick.

The Kings open training camp Aug. 11 in Corner Brook.
