The Deer Lake Minor Hockey Association joined the hockey world in celebrating World Girl's Hockey Weekend, which took place from Oct. 5-7 in communities all across Canada and the world. 2018 events were planned by the International Ice Hockey Federation and Hockey Canada, with the aim to grow and celebrate female hockey coast to coast.

Deer Lake Minor Hockey was one of the associations to take part in the 2018 celebrations with sessions for all girls registered to play hockey in Deer Lake for the new season.
