Anne Johnston established a new course record, and Colin Fewer added to his growing list of Tely 10 trophies as the 92nd annual Telegram 10-Mile Road Race – the Tely 10 – was staged under glorious weather conditions Sunday morning.

While Fewer won his fourth straight race, and added to his record collection with 12th overall title, the story Sunday was the female competition, which saw three elite runners finish in the top 11 overall in a race that attracted 4,003 runners and walkers to the start line in Paradise.

Leading the way was Johnston, who copped her fourth Tely crown in the record time of 54:25, shattering Kate Bazeley’s old time of 55:34 set in 2016.

Johnston finished an incredible sixth overall.

Bazeley was third Sunday in 56:05, and 11th overall. The two-time defending champion, Jennifer Murrin, finished 30 seconds behind Johnston in 54:55.

Rounding out the top five were Julie Howard in fourth place (58:31, and 20th overall) and Jade Roberts (1:0.04, and 33rd).

Fewer was just off his personal best time, finishing in 49:49. That’s eight second off the time he ran two years ago.

Graydon Snider of Montreal, a familiar Tely participant, was second in 51:11, followed by Matt Noseworthy (51:13), David Freake (51:33) and Blaine Penney (53:42).
