ST. JOHN'S, N.L. — Hockey Newfoundland and Labrador Hall of Fame Selection Committee chairman Gerry Evans of Mount Pearl has released the names of 10 individuals who will comprise the next class of provincial hockey hall of fame inductees.

Evans announced players Daniel Cleary, Tony Cuomo, Charlie Greene, Jack Hill, Teddy Purcell and Mac Tucker, player/builders Chris Peach and Mark Robinson, builder Don Kelly and media member Brendan McCarthy will be inducted in early 2021.

The hall of fame inductions usually coincide with Hockey NL’s annual general meeting and awards banquet in late spring/early summer.

That all changed this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, the hall of fame inductions will be held in the new year on the West Coast, likely in January around Minor Hockey Week.

The new Hall of Famers will be welcomed at the hall of fame exhibit in the Corner Brook Civic Centre, a first for the provincial Hockey Newfoundland and Labrador Hall of Fame.

Members of the hall’s selection committee are Evans, Robin Short and Jack Lee of St. John’s, Don Bradshaw of Corner Brook, Arnold Kelly of Happy Valley-Goose Bay and Hughie Wadden of Buchans.
