This year’s St. John’s senior baseball final came and went quickly.

Not so with the city league’s intermediate championship series,

The OMT Shamrocks and Holy Cross Crusaders meet 6:30 p.m. today at St. Pat’s Ball Park in Game 7 of the intermediate final.

The Shammies forced the series to the distance with a 12-5 win over defending champion Holy Cross Sunday afternoon at St. Pat’s, tying the series at 3-3.

Joel Abbott went the distance on the mound for the Green and Gold, working his way around 11 hits and five walks,

Holy Cross starter Nick Evans took the loss.

Dylan Mackenzie had two hits and scored two runs for the winners, while Brad Porter of the Shamrocks reached base four times on two hits and two walks.

Eric McKay went three-for-three at the plate for Holy Cross, stole two bases and scored twice.

Crusaders Chris Edwards, Blair Penney and Jacob Reid all had two hits.

This marks the fourth straight year Holy Cross has been in the league final. They knocked off the C.B.S. Storm for the 2018 championship after losing to the Shamrocks in 2017 and 2018 finals.

Shamrocks won the 2019 St. John’s senior baseball final last week, completing a four-game sweep of Feildians and going 7-0 in the playoffs.
