After grabbing a win — and a team-record number of rebounds — against the KW Titans, the St. John’s Edge will look for a second victory on what will be a four-game Ontario road trip as they take on the National Basketball League of Canada-leading Lightning tonight in London.

The Edge (7-6) opened the trek Thursday in Kitchener, Ont., with a 108-95 win over the KW Titans.

Karrington Ward led all scorers in the contest with 22 points and Montay Brandon came off the St. John’s bench to deliver a double-double with 20 points and 17 rebounds. The latter was part of a game-total 69 rebounds for the Edge, establishing a new team record; the previous single-game high for St. John’s had been the 64 boards grabbed in a game against the Lightning during the 2017-18 season.

Cane Broome joined Brandon with a big performance off the Edge bench, finishing the night with 18 points, while Tyron Watson had 12 points and a half-dozen rebounds, and Junior Cadougan registered 10 points and a game-high seven assists.

Mike Edwards contributed 10 rebounds to the St. John’s total.

Ed Horton led the Titans (4-12) with 21 points.

Tonight, the Edge will come up against a Lightning team that entered the weekend owning a league-best a 12-4 record even after dropping a 117-116 decision to the visiting Sudbury 5 Thursday night at the Budweiser Gardens.
