Sole possession of first place in the St. John’s Molson Senior Men’s Softball League will be on the line tonight in one of two matchups scheduled for Lions Park.

At 8:15 p.m., Kelly’s Pub Molson Bulldogs and 3Cheers Pub Dodgers carry their 12-9 records to the ball park.

The teams are deadlocked for first following wins Tuesday night. Defending champion Kelly’s dropped The Bigs 5-1, while the Dodgers beat NTV Hitmen 8-5.

The Hitmen are third at 9-11 and The Bigs are 8-12 in the four-team circuit.

Monday, Sean Cleary (7IP, 1R, 3H, 1BB, 8K) pitched the win, had a base hit, knocked in a run and scored a run for Kelly’s. Mark Power (4IP, 5R, 7H, 4BB, 3K) started for 3 Cheers and was tagged with the loss. Nick Pittman (3IP, 0R, 1H, 1BB, 7K) pitched in relief.

Stephen Strapp had two hits for the winners, and Shane Boland hit a solo home run.

Colin Walsh (5.1IP, 5R, 7H, 2BB, 5K) pitched the win, and went three-for-four with a solo home run, two RBIs and three runs scored in the Dodgers’ win.

Jason Hill recorded the save, had a hit and knocked in a run. Robbie Greene (6IP, 8R, 9H, 3BB, 5K) suffered the loss.

Doug Marshall had two hits for the winners. Greene collected two hits, and he and Brad Ezekiel hit solo shots.

NTV and The Bigs meet 6:15 this evening at Lions Park.
