If you were thinking the St. John’s Edge might start slowly in their first game back after a 12-day break in their National Basketball League of Canada schedule, you were proven right on Friday night in Windsor, Ont.

The Edge were outscored 39-13 by the Windsor Express in the opening quarter of the contest, and although St. John’s eventually got straightened away, it wasn’t enough for a comeback Windsor won 112-93.

Six different players scored in double figures for St. John’s (11-8), but none had more than Ahmad Thomas’s 14.

League-leading rebounder Montay Brandon pumped out another double-double for the Edge with 12 points and 16 boards.

Chris Jones had 22 points for Windsor (10-11), while Quinnel Brown added 17 for the home side.

St. John’s continues what will be a six-game, two-week road trip in Ontario when they take on the KW Titans in Kitchener tonight
