The St. John’s Edge get in their first road game in nearly six weeks as they take on the KW Titans in National Basketball League of Canada game in Kitchener, Ont., tonight.

The Edge (6-6) last played an away contest on Jan. 5, when they clewed up a six-game season-opening road trip in the Maritimes. But while that trek took 11 days, the team’s next six games, all at Mile One Centre, were played out over five weeks (two scheduled home games were postponed by weather/State of Emergency).

St. John’s and KW (4-11) have already faced each other this season, with the Edge winning twice in what were their first home games of the 2019-20 campaign.

Tonight’s contest is the opener of a four-game Ontario trek that continues Saturday in London against the Lightning and Wednesday versus the Sudbury Five before the St. John’s team finishes where it started, in Kitchener where it takes on the Titans again a week from tonight.

The Edge made a few roster moves this week in advance of the road trip.

Guard Jesse Jones, who averaged nearly 12 points per outing while appearing in all of St. John’s games to date, was released, while guard/forward Ryan Richardson, who had been deactivated for family reasons, returned to the roster.

As well, forward Ahmad Thomas, who has been officially released four times in the last eight weeks, is back after being re-signed once again.

Finally, Canadian forward Olu Ashalou should be available after serving a one-game suspension stemming from a technical foul he picked up in a Feb. 4 win over the league-leading Magic at Mile One. Ashalou served his penance by sitting out a rematch the following night when the Magic won 127-113.
