You can make it eight Mary Brown’s St. John’s Junior Hockey League games that have been postponed as a result of the record storm that battered the metro area over the weekend.
The league has announced that tonight’s scheduled contest between the Conception Bay North Stars and Paradise Warriors at the Paradise Double Ice Complex is being called off.
“In view of the pending situation and regards to travel and the State of Emergency is still on rather than wait to the last minute, it has been decided to (postpone the) game in Paradise,” the league said Monday on its Twitter account (@mbsjjhl).
Seven games that were to have been played last weekend were already cancelled because of the storm and resulting state of emergency.
Meanwhile, the league announced that Stars forward Luke Akerman is the latest player of the week. Akerman is second in league scoring with 37 points (19G, 18A) in 18 games.
