The best skaters in Newfoundland and Labrador will gather at the Glacier in Mount Pearl in 2019.
The 2019 Sectional Championships, sponsored by Skate Canada Newfoundland and Labrador (SCNL) will take place Friday, Nov. 9 and Saturday, Nov. 10, 2019.
These sectionals identify the top skaters in the province for advancement to the next round of qualifying events and ultimately lead to the Canadian Figure Skating Championships.
This allows SCNL to feature its talented skaters, trained officials, volunteers, recognize sponsors and provide entertaining skating for audiences at the provincial level.
SCNL is a member of Skate Canada and the governing body of figure skating in Newfoundland and Labrador.
However, what SCNL does goes far beyond figure skating.
As the largest learn-to skate teaching organization in the province, it offers programming for all ages and abilities through the more than 30 member clubs and schools located from St. John’s to Labrador City.
SCNL is the largest learn-to-skate teaching organization in the province boasting a membership of more than 5,000 participants and is dedicated to offering quality programming and inspiring youth in this province to embrace the joy of skating.
Contacts for the event are section chairperson Bev Power (709-944-0500) and branding and production representative Susan Dean (709-425-1380).
Skating will take place from 12-5:30 p.m. on Nov. 9  and from 12-3 p.m. on Nov. 10.
