Ian Cole scored the tiebreaking goal midway through the second period as the Colorado Avalanche handed the Boston Bruins their first regulation home loss of the season, 4-1, on Saturday.
Valeri Nichushkin, Andre Burakovsky and Gabriel Landeskog also scored, and Joonas Donskoi had two assists as the Avalanche extended their winning streak to six. Colorado overcame injuries to starting goaltender Philipp Grubauer and rookie phenom defenseman Cale Makar.
Pavel Francouz took over in net and stopped all 16 shots he faced after Grubauer exited in the first.
Chris Wagner scored, and Jaroslav Halak made 16 saves for the Bruins, whose 13-game points streak (9-0-4) came to an end. Boston entered the contest 12-0-5 at home.
Canucks 6, Sabres 5 (OT)
J.T. Miller scored a power play goal with 1:39 remaining in overtime to give Vancouver a wild victory over visiting Buffalo.
With Henri Jokiharju in the box serving a tripping penalty, Miller one-timed a Quinn Hughes pass from the dot in the right circle under the crossbar for his 13th goal of the season.
Josh Leivo and Antoine Roussel each scored two goals, and Tyler Myers had a goal and an assist for Vancouver, which blew leads of 2-0, 3-2 and 5-3 but never trailed. Victor Olofsson and Sam Reinhart each had a goal and an assist, and Kyle Okposo, Zemgus Girgensons and Marcus Johansson also scored goals for Buffalo.
Hurricanes 6, Wild 2
Sebastian Aho scored three goals, capped by an unassisted short-handed tally into an empty net with 1:21 to play, as Carolina defeated visiting Minnesota.
The outcome snapped the Wild's 11-game points streak (8-0-3), which had been the second-longest string in franchise history. Minnesota hadn't lost in regulation since a 3-1 defeat at Los Angeles on Nov. 12.
Aho, who also had two assists, scored twice in the second period, including a power-play goal. He has three multi-goal games this season, pushing his team-leading goals total to 16.
Maple Leafs 5, Blues 2
Auston Matthews and Zach Hyman scored two goals each as visiting Toronto beat St. Louis.
The Maple Leafs snapped their seven-game losing streak against the Blues -- which dated back to March 2017 -- while opening their four-game road trip on a positive note. Jason Spezza also scored for the Maple Leafs, and Frederik Andersen made 26 saves.
Jordan Binnington allowed four goals on 11 shots for the Blues before Jake Allen replaced him in the first period. It was the first time Binnington has been pulled in 53 career regular-season starts -- and the first time he has suffered back-to-back regulation losses.
Lightning 7, Sharks 1
Alex Killorn had a goal and three assists, Tyler Johnson and Steven Stamkos each scored twice and Tampa Bay walloped visiting San Jose.
Victor Hedman and Carter Verhaeghe notched a goal and two assists for the Lightning, who improved to 5-3-1 in their last nine games and snapped their three-game home losing streak.
Goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy made his third straight start and stopped 37 of 38 shots. The reigning Vezina Trophy winner's 228th outing in goal for Tampa Bay set the franchise record for career appearances.
Panthers 4, Blue Jackets 1
Sergei Bobrovsky, facing his former team for the first time since leaving, made 33 saves to lead Florida past Columbus in Sunrise, Fla.
Evgenii Dadonov, Josh Brown, Brett Connolly and Mike Hoffman scored for the Panthers, who snapped a seven-game losing streak in their series against Columbus. Center Aleksander Barkov and defenseman Keith Yandle each added two assists.
Blue Jackets backup Elvis Merzlikins, a 25-year-old rookie who has yet to win an NHL game, made 23 saves. Vladislav Gavrikov scored the Columbus goal.

Ben Bishop made 34 saves for host Dallas, which dropped New York to 3-4-0 since its franchise-record 17-game point streak (15-0-2).
Alexander Radulov had a goal and an assist, and Andrew Cogliano and Denis Gurianov also scored for the Stars.
Mathew Barzal scored at 15:27 of the third period to keep Bishop from getting his first shutout of the season and the 32nd of his career.
Penguins 5, Red Wings 3
Evgeni Malkin and Jake Guentzel each had a goal and two assists, Matt Murray made 25 saves and Pittsburgh dealt host Detroit its 11th consecutive loss.
Chad Ruhwedel, Dominik Kahun and John Marino also scored for Pittsburgh, which has won three straight. Robby Fabbri, Filip Hronek and Dylan Larkin scored for the Wings.
Red Wings goalie Jonathan Bernier stopped 19 of 23 shots before being replaced by the recently acquired Eric Comrie midway through the third period. Comrie stopped all four shots he faced.
Flyers 4, Senators 3
Scott Laughton drilled in a rebound from the slot with 4:49 remaining to break a tie and give Philadelphia a victory over visiting Ottawa.
Ottawa tied the score with five minutes left when Anthony Duclair tapped in a Thomas Chabot feed from the right side of the net. But Laughton answered with the go-ahead goal just 11 seconds later when he drilled in a rebound of a James van Riemsdyk shot from the middle of the slot for his fourth goal of the season.
Ivan Provorov, Travis Konecny and Shayne Gostisbehere also scored goals for Philadelphia, which won for the seventh time in nine games while improving to 10-2-4 at home. Duclair scored two goals and Brady Tkachuk also scored for Ottawa.
Flames 4, Kings 3
Milan Lucic and Dillon Dube each collected one goal and one assist as host Calgary ran its winning streak to four by beating the Kings.
Goaltender Cam Talbot made 30 saves for the Flames, who erased a two-goal deficit. Zac Rinaldo and Sean Monahan also scored for Calgary, which ran off four straight goals after falling behind 2-0.
Anze Kopitar and Drew Doughty scored power-play goals for the Kings in the first period, and Matt Roy scored at 5:24 of the third period. Jack Campbell stopped 26 shots for Los Angeles, which has lost four straight games and is just 2-12-1 on the road.
Predators 6, Devils 4
Filip Forsberg and Nick Bonino each scored their team co-leading 11th goal as host Nashville skated past New Jersey.
Rocco Grimaldi and defenseman Dante Fabbro each had a goal and an assist, and Yakov Trenin and Daniel Carr also tallied for the Predators, who improved to 4-1-2 in their last seven games. Bonino also had an assist.
Taylor Hall scored and set up a goal, and Kyle Palmieri, Jesper Bratt and Travis Zajac also tallied for the slumping Devils, who have dropped five in a row (0-4-1).
