Local boxing clubs have taken turns putting on events recently and this past weekend, it was the turn of Rock Athletics of Mount Pearl, which hosted a 10-bout card at the Reid Center.

The Saturday event featured athletes from four local clubs — Rock Athletics, TRC BC of St. John’s, Conception Bay South BC and Mustangs BC of Petty Harbour — plus Corner Brook and Grand Falls and three athletes from Ontario.
The results (key — SD: split decision; UD: unanimous decision, RSF: referee stopped fight):

The next show on Boxing NL’s calendar is the C.B.S. Boxing Club’s annual dinner show event, on Friday April 27 and Saturday, April 28. This card will showcase local club athletes in competition with athletes from Nova Scotia. For information, contact Randell Rideout (834-2295).
