Ethan Efford of Bally Haly Country Club in St. John’s had, what was by far, the top score of the day as the Tely Junior Tour moved  into central Newfoundland Monday for an event at the Grand Falls Golf Club.

On a sunny day with light winds, Efford shot a 78 take the juvenile boys title. Jack Pelley-MacHardy of Grand Falls was runner-up with a 90, while Braedon King of Gander had a 91, tying him for the day’s third-best score with junior-aged Luke Lahey of Grand Falls.

Golfers from Blomidon club in Corner Brook dominated the bantam divisions.

In bantam girls play, Paige Allen claimed her third Tely Tour title of the summer, recording a score of 42 over nine holes. Clubmate Brooklyn Stride (61) finished in second just ahead of Kali Gill (62).

Daniel Sharpe of Blomidon followed up his win late last week at the Humber River course in Deer Lake with another bantam boys title, this time after shooting 51. Drew Park of Humber River was second with a 55. There was a three-way tie of players who scored 58, with Sam Bugden of Blomidon being awarded third place using the retrogression format.

The Tour moves an hour east today for the Gander Junior Invitational.
