Basketball player Haille Nickerson and wrestler Dennis Sutton are the latest Memorial Sea-Hawks athletes of the week.
Nickerson, a third-year physical education student from Grimsby, Ont., had 25-points, seven rebounds, and four steals as the Sea-Hawks defeated the Dalhousie Tigers on Saturday in Halifax for a split of a weekend series. That win kept Memorial in second place in the AUS women’s basketball standings.
Sutton, a fifth-year civil engineering student, won a bronze medal in the men’s 100-kilogram division at a weekend wrestling meet at Brock University in St. Catharines, Ont.
Sutton lost a first-round match to a wrestler from Guelph University, but bounced back for two wins, both over competitors from host Brock.
