Kate Bazeley, one of the finest distance runners in the province, turned in a brilliant performance at the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront half-marathon Sunday, placing fourth amongst females.
Bazeley finished in a time of 1:14.53 in the half-marathon, the fourth-fastest female and the 32nd overall finisher.
What makes that finish even more noteworthy is the fact the race had just over 10,000 finishers.
Jonathan Adey of Paradise also had a fine race, placing 92nd overall in a time of 1:21.54.
In the full marathon, Canadian Cam Levins set a new Canadian marathon record of 2:09:22, breaking Jerome Drayton’s 43-year-old record of 2:10:09.
