The sun shone Friday as several young golfers captured club championships in their respective dicisions at Blomidon Golf Course in Corner Brook.
There was a bit of drama to crown champions in the bantam girls and the bantam boys divisions as they leaders in both groups finished with the same overall score.
Adam Lamswood made the biggest leap to take home the title in the bantam boys division. He leapfrogged the two golfers in front of him after they withdrew from the competition and shot a 54 in Round 2 to give him a total of 108.
Ethan Hull made a similar jump after shooting a 50 in the second round giving him a two-day total of 108.
Retrogression, a process to break ties that compares the golfers scores based on who shot better at the previous hole, was used to determine the winner.
That ended up being Adam Lamswood.
In the bantam girls division, Paige Allen and Katie Colbourne needed retrogression to determine first place after both ended day two with a score of 94.
Allen had the better second round with a 46, while Colbourne shot a 48 on round two.
The other divisions were clearer as Taylor Cormier shot a 172 to take home the junior girls title and Nickolas Baldwin claimed the junior boys title with an overall score of 234.
Meanwhile, Ryan Mercer shot a 102 across two days to win the juvenile boys division.
