Tyler Cole finished first overall in the Olympic distance, outdistancing the competition by more than four minutes in the 2018 Capital Subaru St. John’s Triathlon held Sunday at Rotary Sunshine Park.

Cole had an overall time of two hours, 18 minutes and 11 seconds on a course that consisted of a 1.5 kilometre swim in Healey’s Pond, a 46km bike ride and 10km run.

Carl Barrett  (2:22:14), William Duggan (2:22:31), Marc Saunders (2:26:45) and Matt Agar (2:30:18) rounded out the top five in the Olympic Division.

Stephanie Nevin (2:38:18) was easily the top female, topping runner-up Katherine MacBay by nearly 12 minutes. Julianne Marshall followed in (3:01:50).

There were 51 finishers over the Olympic distance and 42 over the shorter-course Sprint (750m swim, 23km bike and 5km run) , where Todd Puddicome (1:19:30 ) topped the field.

Top female Heidi Perry (1:22:07) was second overall) in the division.

Finishing second among males in the Sprint was Chuck Pardy (1:27:42) with Matthew Pike (1:27:58). In third.

Joanne Budgell (1:30:27) and Alison Jones (1:31:12) rounded out the top three female finishers.
