If nothing else, a meaningless Johnson’s Challenge Cup senior men’s soccer game Wednesday night added a little bit of spice to the league’s scoring race.
Jacob Grant scored five goals as Holy Cross-Kirby Group thumped Paradise North Atlantic at King George V Park to climb to within four goals of league scoring leader Tyler Forsey of Feildians, who has 16 in 18 games.
Both Feildians and Holy Cross have one game remaining
Kyle Williams, Matt Breen, Jake Warren and Tyler Kirby also scored for the Crusaders. Saul Maynard had the lone Paradise goal.
The league has three games left in its regular season schedule. Holy Cross and St. Lawrence meet 3 p.m. Saturday in St. Lawrence, while Paradise and C.B.S. meet 7 p.m. Sunday in C.B.S. Next Wednesday, Feildians visit C.B.S. for a 7 p.m. game
