The St. John’s Edge are off to the National Basketball League of Canada’s championship series.

The Edge earned the right to play for their first NBL Canada league championship in only their second year of operation by finishing off the KW Titans in six games Friday night at Mile One Centre, with a 108-100 win.

The Edge, who took the best-of-seven Central Division final 4-2, will play either the Halifax Hurricanes or the Moncton Magic for the league championship.

Those two teams will play a Game 7 Sunday after Halifax won 86-70 Friday night in Game 6.

Before 4,951 fans Friday, Glen Davis carried the Edge with a 31-point performance. Dez Lee, who has been battling a leg injury and didn’t start in Game 5 Tuesday night, had 13 points and 12 rebounds, Murphy Burnatowski scored 19 and Carl English chipped in with 15 points. Alo Ashaolu scored 10.
