The Memor ial University men's basketball team has its final tune-up before the Sea-Hawks’ 2018-19 AUS campaign opens next Saturday in Charlottetown, P.E.I.
Memorial is in Quebec for three games – two against the Laval Rouge et Or of Quebec City, and one game vs Bishops University in Sherbrooke.
The Sea-Hawks and Laval met last night. Tonight, Memorial takes on Bishops before closing out with Laval once again on Saturday.
Last month, the Sea-Hawks played four exhibition games in southern Ontario, and posted a 2-2 record.
“That weekend was a learning curve, for sure,” said Sea-Hawks’ first-year forward Emmanuel Ring out of Prince of Wales Collegiate in St. John’s.
“We’re really young — our team has seven rookies — so we’re bound to make mistakes. That’s what that weekend was for, to learn,” said Ring, a red shirt from last season.
