Jacob Ryan scored 26 points as the Gonzaga Vikings beat the Prince of Wales Collegiate Cavaliers 68-58 to win the St. John’s high school senior A boys’ basketball championship Saturday.

Nick Luther chipped in with 11 points for the winners. James Wiseman netted 21 points in a losing cause, and Mitchell Hand scored 19.

PWC had gone undefeated in the regular season, with Gonzaga’s only loss coming at the hands of the Cavaliers.

In semifinal play, the Vikings beat Mount Pearl Senior High Huskies, while PWC got by Waterford Valley High Warriors.

Members of the winning Vikings are Nick Luther, Kent Thornhill, Jacob Marshall, Jacob Ryan, Matt Torraville, Chris Edwards, Andrew Shears, Hunter Ryan, Harry Carter, Jared Butt, Michael Lundrigan, Lucas Shortall and Graham King. The coaches are Ryan Wood, Ian Hayes and Steve Connolly.
