Gushue, Mark Nichols, Brett Gallant and Geoff Walker were 2-0 after Friday’s play, with wins over Patric Mabergs of Sweden (4-1) and Christian Bangerter of Switzerland (7-3).
Thirty-two teams are entered in the event.
Gushue certainly likes the Switzerland stop: he’s won the event four times (2015, 2011, 2008 and 2006).
