Would it really be possible for a team in a high-level competitive soccer league to go through an entire season without giving up a goal?

Holy Cross Avalon Ford seems to be out to prove that it can be done.

The defending Breen’s Jubilee Trophy women’s champions blanked Mount Pearl 7-0 Monday night at King George V Park in St. John’s. That makes it seven straight wins — all by shutout — to start the season for Holy Cross.

The team has 18 games in its Jubilee Trophy regular-season schedule.

Malorie Harris and Jessie Noseworthy each scored twice for the Crusaders Monday, with Maria Mackey, Julie Crocker and Kate Hickey producing the other goals.

Holy Cross has scored 52 goals in its seven victories. Its next game is Sunday against Feildians Green Sleeves (2-1-1)

Goalkeeper Hannah Noseworthy had the shutout against Mount Pearl, which is winless through five games.
