Stacey Hanlon scored her league-leading 13th goal of the season and Anna Edwards posted yet another shutout as Feildians Greensleeves blanked Mount Pearl 1-0 in Breen’s Jubilee Trophy women’s soccer Sunday evening at Feildian Grounds in St. John’s.

The result moves Feildians (9-3-1) within five points of league-leading and defending champion Holy Cross Avalon Ford (11-0-0), who have two games in hand.

All nine of Feildians’ wins this season have been by shutouts. The 11 goals they have surrendered have come in three losses to Holy Cross and a 1-1 tie with the St. John’s U17 side.

The shutout by Edwards, however, was her first of the year, and it came in her first start in goal. The 18-year-old is normally a defender.

The defending champions Crusaders have been even stingier; they haven't allowed a single goal in 2019.

Mount Pearl remains winless this season, but has proven to be tough of late, with its last three losses coming by a total of four goals.
