The largest school-based volleyball tournament in Canada — and certainly the largest school-based tournament of any kind in the province — is scheduled for this weekend in metro St. John’s.

VolleyFest 2018, which opens today and wraps up Saturday, features 170 school teams taking part in 11 divisions, with 19 tiers.

The tournament, sponsored by Beresford Ltd., will take place on 30 courts in St. John’s and vicinity, with the primary venues being the Newfoundland and Labrador Sports Centre for junior high divisions, and the Memorial University Field House for senior high divisions.

VolleyFest will have over 2,300 athletes taking part, 350 coaches, 80 officials and 24 conveners throughout the event.

All scores will be updated live at www.iset.net Bell TV will also be providing live webcasting from the main courts in the Field House and the provincial Sports Centre.
