Lengthy break in schedule for St. John's senior baseball league

Rainy weather washed out three scheduled Molson St. John’s senior baseball games Tuesday night — two at St. Pat’s Ball Park and another at Smallwood Field — meaning the league standings will remain the same for almost two weeks.

That’s because the circuit takes a break during the provincial senior A championship, which begins this weekend in Corner Brook, where the Barons host the St. John’s Capitals for the first three gams of a best-of-seven series.
The remainder of the provincial final will be played the following weekend at St. Pat’s.see

That meamns the St. John's senior league won't resume its schedule until Aug. 8, although there will be plenty of games during the interim in the St. John's intermediate circuit, including two contests at St. Pat's tonight.
