The Memorial Sea-Hawks will carry a fifth-seed ranking into the AUS women’s basketball championship tournament next weekend in Halifax.
The Sea-Hawks own a 9-11 record after closing out their 2018-19 regular-season schedule by splitting a pair of games against the Dalhousie Tigers Friday and Saturday at the Field House in St. John’s.
Memorial will take on fourth seed UNB in a quarter-final matchup that will open the playoff tournament Friday afternoon.
The Tigers entered the weekend with a shot at claiming fifth place, but Sea-Hawks clinched the position with an 87-76 victory on Friday. The Tigers responded with a 66-64 win on Saturday, but that result didn’t change the final standings for either team
