Newfoundland and Labrador opened the 2018 soccer season in fine style over the weekend, winning the Atlantic Under-18 Showcase tournament on both the male and female sides at King George V Park in St. John’s.

Teams from each of the four Atlantic provinces played a round-robin schedule, and Newfoundland and Labrador came out on top in both the boys and girls events with 3-0 records.

The tournament allowed the players to put their abilities on display for scouts and coaches from nine universities and colleges who were in attendance and looking to recruit for their varsity teams.
