Repeat winners on second stop of Tely Tour

The Tely Tour junior golf event staged its second stop of the 2019 season Wednesday in Corner Brook, and saw a repeat of winners from each division from the season-opening stop.

Under suburb weather conditions, the Corner Brook Junior Invitational was staged at Blomidon Golf Club, following the first stop Tuesday at Stephenville’s Harmon Seaside Links.

In the juvenile boys division, Jack Pelley-MacHardy of Grand Falls Golf Club won his second consecutive title, recording an 85 to claim the division by one stroke over Karsen Best of Bally Haly Country Club in St. John’s. Noah Belliveau of Harmon took third place with a score of 95.

The bantam division saw Sam Budgen of Blomidon secure his second title in as many events with a score of 44 and a four-stroke win over Drew Park of Deer Lake’s Humber River Golf Club, who carded a 48. Daniel Sharpe of Blomidon was third.

Dylan Rideout recorded a second consecutive junior division crown, finishing the event with a score of 84 and a win over Luke Lahey of Grand Falls Golf Club.

Paige Allen of Blomidon won the bantam girls division with a score of 38 and a six-stroke victory over Katie Colbourne of Blomidon, while Kali Gill, also from Blomidon, placed third with a score of 52.

Taylor Cormier of Blomidon took top spot in the junior girls division with an 87.
