Rod Snow, Glenn Stanford, Gerald Lomond entering NL sports hall of fame

Rugby legend Rod Snow, all-star athlete and hockey executive Glenn Stanford and gymnastics pioneer Gerald Lomond will be inducted into the Newfoundland and Labrador Sports Hall of Fame this spring.

Snow, who played in four Rugby World Cups for Canada, is going in as an athlete; Stanford, who starred in soccer and basketball before earning awards as an American Hockey League executive, will enter as an athlete/builder; and Lomond, who is responsible for starting gymnastics programs in Gander and a number of other communities, is being inducted as a builder.

The three will be honoured at the ninth annual Stars and Legends Awards Gala April 8 in St. John’s.
