The Memorial Sea-Hawks men’s basketball team need only a split this weekend against the Dalhousie Tigers to secure itself a playoff berth in the Atlantic University Sport post season.

The Sea-Hawks (6-12) play host the 12-6 Tigers today and Sunday at the Field House.

Memorial and the Acadia Axemen are tied for the sixth and final playoff spot with 16 points apiece. The Sea-Hawks have a game in hand.

Four points behind is UPEI.

Memorial holds the tiebreaker over both Acadia and UPEI if the teams happen to finish the season tied.

The Sea-Hawks were swept by the Saint Mary’s Huskies, ranked fourth in the country, last weekend in Halifax, but are back on home court where they’re 5-3 this season.

However, the Tigers are unbeaten in their last six games. Dal is allowing only 72.55 points per game this season, second-best in the conference.

Game times are 8 p.m. today and 2 p.m. Sunday.

The women’s team, 8-10, is also playing host to Dalhousie (7-11). The Lady Birds have a playoff spot wrapped up, and are playing for a higher seeding.

The teams meet 6 o’clock this evening, and noon Sunday.

These are the final home games for Memorial fifth-years stars Sydney Stewart, Sydney Ezekiel, Brooklyn Wright and Rosie Stanoev.
