Memorial University basketball fans will get their first look at the Lady Birds on home court this weekend as the Sea-Hawks’ women’s hoops squad plays host to the 2018 Marie’s Mini Mart Fall Classic at the Field House.
Besides the host Sea-Hawks, the University of Manitoba Bisons, University of Ottawa GeeGees and Brock University Badgers from St. Catharines, Ont. are slated to take part.
The tournament opens today and wraps up Saturday. Tickets are $5 for adults, and $3 for students and seniors, and all proceeds go to the Memorial women’s basketball program.
The Sea-Hawks were in Montreal last weekend for the Concordia Basketball Classic, where they went 1-2.
The 2018-19 Atlantic University Sport basketball season opens Nov. 3 for the Sea-Hawks.
