Leads 3 Cheers to a 9-0 victory at Lions Park; Chayee Bourras gets first win of the season

Batter Colin Walsh provided pitcher Colin Walsh with all the offensive backing he needed Thursday night at Lions Park.

Walsh drove in two runs and scored three more in going three-for-three at the plate while allowing just three hits in five innings of mound work as the 3 Cheers Pub Bud Light Dodgers blanked the NTV Hitmen 9-0 in Molson St. John's Senior Men's Fastpitch League play.

Walsh struck out seven and allowed just one walk in the game shortened by two innings because of the league’s mercy rule.

Phillip Corbett, who had three RBIs, and Ryan Kirk each added two hits for the Dodgers (2-2), who scored eight runs in the opening inning.

Hitmen starter Lee Cose was charged with the eight first-inning runs. Robbie Greene (4.1IP, 1R, 5H, 2W, 3K) finished up for NTV (3-2).

In Thursday’s other game, the young Chayee Bourras Wines Vines squad recorded its first win of the season by defeating The Bigs 12-7.

Nick Pittman struck out 14 in a complete-game win and Logan Power hit a three-run home run, his first career home run, for Chayee Bourras (1-4).

Nick Pittman (5H, 1HBP) survived the nine walks he allowed in getting the win over Douglas Cheeseman (13H, 6WB, 3K), who also went the distance for The Bigs (2-4).

Power, Pittman, Joel Nash, Darcy O’Reilly and Jordan Pomeroy all had two hits for the winners.

Pomeroy scored three runs, while Nathan Jesso scored two runs.

Shane Kelly had two hits and scored three runs for The Bigs. Peter Kavanagh scored twice and reached base four times on a double and three walks.
