Justin Gill scored the winning run in the top of the seventh inning on a passed ball as NTV Hitmen slipped past the defending champion 3 Cheers Bud Light Dodgers 2-1 in St. John’s Molson senior men’s softball Sunday at Lions Park.

Lee Cose (7IP, 1R, 2H, 2W, 3K) went the distance in posting the win. Colin Walsh (3IP, 1R, 4H, 3W, 2K) was tagged with the loss, in relief of starter Jason Hill (4IP, 1R, 4H, 2W, 4K).

Gill, Kenny Gosse and Danny Mullins collected two hits for the winners.

Gill’s run in the seventh was his 199th senior career run scored.

In another game, The Bigs slipped past Chayee Bourras Wines Vines 6-5 on the strength of four runs in the seventh inning.

Marcus Pittman (7IP, 5R, 8H, 5W, 7K) won over Eric Healey (7IP, 6R, 11H, 3BB, 7K).

Andrew Evans led the winners with three hits, and Craig Edmunds and Peter Kavanagh each had a pair.

Jordan Pomeroy went four-for-four in a losing cause, with a solo home run and three RBIs. Gerald Wall had two hits.
