St. John’s swimmer wins gold medal at nationals

Owen Daly of St. John's won a gold medal in the 50-metre butterfly Friday at the Canadian swimming championships in Montreal.

Daly, who was third in the 50m freestyle final Thursday, finished Friday's race in a time of 23.99 seconds.

A former member of the St. John's Legends, Daly currently swims for the CAMO club out of Montreal.

Kate Sullivan of the Mount Pearl Marlins and Noah Cumby of the Legends are also swimming in the meet.
