Cape Breton Eagles call up Beaton, Greatorex for QMJHL debuts against Halifax Tuesday

SYDNEY, N.S. — The Cape Breton Eagles have called up forward James Beaton and defenceman Tanner Greatorex for their Quebec Major Junior Hockey League debuts against the Halifax Mooseheads on Tuesday.

Due to injuries, Beaton and Greatorex were called up by the Sydney-based team on Tuesday.

Beaton, 18, is currently a member of the Cape Breton West Islanders of the Nova Scotia Under-18 Major Hockey League. The Inverness product has eight goals and 18 points in 19 games this season. 

Greatorex, 18, has appeared in 21 games with the Truro Bearcats of the Maritime Junior Hockey League. The Truro native has one assist and four penalty minutes in his rookie campaign. 

In other Eagles news, the team also called up forward Trey Sturge of Sydney and defenceman Michael McQuaid for Tuesday’s game.
