SYDNEY, N.S. —

Three Cape Breton female hockey players will be taking their talents to Atlantic University Sport for the 2020-21 season.

Belle Jacobs of Sydney has signed her letter of intent with the Prince Edward Island Panthers in Charlottetown. The defenceman appeared in 17 games with the Sydney Academy Wildcats last season, recording a goal and two assists.

Madison Corbett of Sydney will suit up for the Saint Mary’s Huskies in Halifax. The defenceman played for the Kingston Jr. Ice Wolves last season, recording three goals and eight points in 34 games.

Earlier this year, Erin Denny of Eskasoni committed to Saint Mary’s after playing her midget hockey with the MacIntyre Chevy Panthers.

Denny, who was named the Nova Scotia Female Midget ‘AAA’ Hockey League most valuable player, finished fifth in the league with 12 goals and 28 points.

The AUS season is scheduled to begin play in October.
