CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Captain Max Chisholm scored twice as the Charlottetown Bulk Carriers Knights punched their ticket to the COVID Cup final.

The Knights defeated The Mount Academy Saints under-18 hockey team 5-2 Friday at MacLauchlan Arena. They finished 3-0 in the round robin portion of the competition while the Saints are 2-1.

The Knights will play in Wednesday’s final at the Cavendish Farms Wellness Centre in Montague while the Saints play the Kensington Monaghan Farms Wild in Saturday’s semifinal at 7:30 p.m. in Kensington. The Wild defeated the Saints under-17 squad 6-4 in Friday’s other contest.

Knights 5, Saints 2

Colby Huggan, Nolan Stewart and Jonah Jelley also scored in the Knights’ win. Cameron MacLean had two assists while singles went to Luke Coughlin, Cole McKeigan, Huggan and Caleb MacDonald.

Saints captain Maguire Nickerson scored both goals for The Mount with Jacob Pelletier and Louis-Frederic Theberge had the assists.

Aiden Williams had 23 saves in the win while Jake Dodge stopped 28 shots in the loss.

The Knights held 1-0 and 4-2 period leads.

Wild 6, Saints 4

Captain Alex Graham led the way with two goals and three assists.
Bates Ling, Max Sentner, Brennan Murphy and Jamie Collins also scored in the win. Carson McKay had two helpers while singles went to Ling, Avery Brown, Crosby Andrews, Sam Bowness and Jess Johnston.
Captain Nathan Mossey, Cam Henderson and Jonah MacDonald were credited with goals for the Saints. The fourth goal scorer was unavailable. Creegan Tompkins, Cole Burbridge, Mathieu Pelletier, Gus El-Tahhan and Finn Morris each added an assist.
Kiefer Thompson earned the win while Jack Flanagan was tagged with the loss.
Kensington held a 2-0 lead after the first period while the teams went to the third tied 3-3.

Kensington improved to 1-2 while the Saints under-17 team is 0-3.
