SYDNEY, N.S. — A former Cape Breton Eagle invite has been called to the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
Marc-Olivier Racine-Roy was promoted by the Val-d'Or Foreurs on Tuesday from the Cégep Outaouais Griffons.
The 18-year-old forward was an invite to Eagles camp in 2019. He was later cut by the team and played the 2019-20 season with the Gatineau L'Intrépide of the Quebec Midget 'AAA' Hockey League.
In 42 games with the Gatineau club, the team captain had nine goals and 25 points and 30 penalty minutes.
The Foreurs will return to the ice on Friday when they host the Rimouski Océanic at 8 p.m. at the Centre air Creebec in Val-d'Or, Que.
