GATINEAU, Que. — A former Cape Breton Screaming Eagles coach has taken a leave from his position with the Gatineau Olympiques.
The Olympiques organization says assistant coach Ron Choules will be away from the team for medical reasons. No further information was provided.
The team says Choules will be away from the team until Dec. 27.
Choules served as the Eagles head coach for a season-and-a-half from 2011 to 2012, before being fired by the team and replaced by Marc-Andre Dumont in December 2012.
